LAS VEGAS - A special meeting is scheduled Thursday to vote on the lease agreement for the new NFL stadium in Las Vegas.
The lease agreement has been approved by the Stadium Authority and the Raiders. Now, it just comes down to a vote.
Mortenson Construction will take the lead in building the $1.9 billion stadium that will sit on the 62 acre lot across from the Mandalay Bay. The Stadium Authority hopes to finalize the lease so the Raiders can give it to the NFL owners for approval on May 23.
It's been just over a year since the idea was hatched in front of Clark County. In the rare case it's not approved, the move to Las Vegas could be pushed back by a season if the agreement isn't presented to owners during the meetings that begin May 22 in Chicago.
