LAS VEGAS - A Nevada Department of Corrections inmate who was serving time for her role in the murder of a former Sparks city councilman has died.
Janine Hillman, 85, died Oct. 30 at Valley Hospital in Las Vegas. She was serving two life sentences.
Hillman masterminded a murder plot that involved two other people killing 71-year-old Valentine Galleron in 1987. Her motive was to steal $40,000 from him.
He died from electrocution when a plugged-in television set was thrown into his hot tub.
Hillman had been serving time since 1988.
Galleron was a Sparks councilman from 1957 to 1963.
